Program Overview

The International Trauma Studies Certificate Program (ITSCP) was developed to train professionals who can contribute to the recovery of individuals, families, and communities exposed to trauma. The program offers participants both a theoretical and practical learning experience by combining current scientific knowledge in the field of trauma with field experience. Carried out in coordination with World Human Relief in cooperation with the New York Trauma Institute, Bahçeşehir University, and Bilgi University, and with contributions from national and international experts, the program offers a comprehensive educational model regarding trauma knowledge, trauma-sensitive approaches, clinical interventions, community-based work, and post-trauma recovery processes. In this respect, ITSCP is not only a training program, but also a learning and solidarity network aiming to contribute to the empowerment of trauma-affected individuals and communities.

Basic Level

The Basic Level Certificate Program consists of 11 workshops aimed at understanding the individual, familial, and social dimensions of trauma, developing a trauma-sensitive approach, gaining basic psychosocial support skills during disaster and crisis periods, and getting acquainted with current practices in the field of trauma. Mental health professionals, health professionals, educators, social workers, non-governmental organization employees, undergraduate and graduate students, and participants from various professional groups who want to increase their knowledge and awareness on trauma can apply to the program.

Clinical Level

The Clinical Level Certificate Program covers 15 workshops, totaling 45 hours of training and 7 supervision sessions (18 hours). It is directed at mental health professionals working or aiming to work with trauma-affected individuals, as well as graduate students wanting to specialize in these fields.
