Many buildings collapsed in Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Diyarbakır, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Malatya and Hatay. Thousands of people lost their lives and hundreds of thousands of people were injured. Search and rescue efforts continue in the wreckage.
The earthquake negatively affected children both physically and psychologically. Experts underline the need for proper communication, especially with children.
