PROGRAM PROMOTION
Program Rationale
Studies have shown that unresolved relationship problems damage physical and mental health, causing violence and crises up to suicide. Relationships produce violence by taking on a structure that threatens the well-being and health of the individual and society; Which makes mental health professionals and civil society workers responsible for researching, learning and intervening relationships.
In this context, it is an important step to develop educational and didactic studies that involve the society and programs that will enable mental health professionals to work effectively with relational problems. Otherwise, violence against women, domestic violence, incest and child marriages will reach an unstoppable level and continue to be a hidden danger affecting the lives and mental health of many of us.
Today, the rapid increase in these problems has led researchers to investigate the determinants of healthy relationship and family psychology and to find solutions. Relationship and family problems include individuals’ developmental, traditional, intergenerational cultural and complex relationship dynamics. Understanding these dynamics is very important; because it helps couples understand the causes of their conflicts, put them into perspective, and find and change their destructive relationship patterns.
This program, which includes training at the international level in the field of relationship and family studies in two intertwined modules, will provide clinicians and non-clinicians with the opportunity to recognize/understand events/problems in relationships and family; will make personal, social and professional contributions by teaching ways to intervene in problems in an effective, systemic model.
